Iran has started injecting natural gas to a pipeline that will transfer the gas to Iraq.

Managing director of National Iranian Gas Transmission Company Mohammad Ali Emam has said that by injection of gas to the pipeline, Iran has technically become ready for sending its gas to neighboring Iraq, Iran’s SHANA news agency reported.
“The pipeline is complete on the Iranian side and will be presently inaugurated by senior Iranian officials to start pumping gas to Iraq,” he said.

Managing director of the Iranian Gas Engineering and Development Company said the company will focus on development of the industry’s infrastructure in the Iranian year which started on March 20.

Regarding designation of this year by the Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei as the Year of “Economy of Resistance; Practical Steps and Action”, Hassan Montazer-Torbati said the company has drawn up plans to develop the gas industry, Iran’s SHANA news agency reported.
 “Moreover, the new atmosphere following the (nuclear) Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) has helped improve conditions,” he added.
Saying that the company emphasized attraction of investment and financial credits in the current year, Torbati also said that cooperation with the private sector in this regard will increase.
“In the post-JCPOA, there is the possibility to concentrate on attracting the private sector’s capital in order to take more effective steps to develop the gas industry’s infrastructure,” he said.
He anticipated that the national gas pipelines 9 and 11 will be completed with the involvement of the private sector.

National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) is bent on accelerating construction and completion of the national gas network especially the parts that will boost Iran’s gas exports to its neighbors, planning director of the NIGC said.
Mohammad Reza Ghodsizadeh added that the company is expediting completion of a strategic 600-km pipeline which will carry Iran’s gas to neighboring Iraq, Iran’s SHANA news agency reported.
“Construction of the project will boost gas delivery capacity in western and northwestern regions of the country, adding to its export capacity,” he said.
He further said pipelines in eastern and southern regions of the country are also being considered by NIGC for picking up speed.

Managing director of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) said that following the increase of refineries’ output, the firm is determined to raise its presence in the global market of gas by-products.
“All the sulfur and LPG produced at the refineries are sold out,” Hamidreza Araqi said adding that marketing activities to put up further products for sale is on the agenda, Iran’s SHANA news agency reported.
“We need to adapt with the international markets,” he added.

Iran’s South Pars gas field’s output reached 130 billion cubic meters in the last year (ended March 19), managing director of Pars Oil and Gas Company (POGC), Ali Akbar Shabanpour said.
“The field’s natural gas output indicates an increase by 15 percent compared to the preceding year,” he said, Iran’s SHANA news agency reported.
Speaking during the visit to the gas field’s offshore platforms on the occasion of the Iranian New Year (Nowruz), he said that in addition to South Pars phases 17 and 18, phases 19, 20, and 21 will be inaugurated this year.
He hailed efforts of the field’s workers in drilling, installation of platforms, laying pipelines, and refining operations who have secured sustained stream of pumping gas to the national grid.
Shbanpour also said that gas condensates output as well as gas production from the South Pars field increased 15 percent last year (ended March 19).
“Gas condensates output grew from the joint gas field to 120 million barrels, increased 15 percent up from 104 mb in the preceding year,” he added.
